Catamount Stoneworks -- Overview

Nothing quite matches the solid beauty of a dry laid stone wall. These walls have a long and fascinating history. Originally culled from tilled soil, these stones were tossed into piles on the outer edges of the fields to be stacked later when time permitted. Many of the walls we see today running through the woods were borders to pasture land or tilled acreage. Many were never actually stacked and still remain in the loose stacks thrown together by the farmers of old.

Located in the Upper Connecticut River Valley of Vermont, Catamount Stoneworks approaches dry-laid wall building with a blend of art and purpose. A place where form and function meet in graceful lines to enhance your property. Whether your needs require retaining walls for soil retention or bank stabilization, stone walkways, or free-standing double faced walls, Catamount Stoneworks will work with you to design a long-lasting stone creation that will add to the natural beauty and setting of your home.
